I finally uploaded a video to Vimeo from the Gulf coast trip.
Instead of doing lots of little pieces I want to edit down a proper "trailer", but this means actually learning Final Cut Pro, so it will be a back burner - late night project for a while.

Lost Coast Sitkagi Bluffs from Eric Parsons on Vimeo.

Also Jason at Salsa Cycles did a nice write up today on the Salsa Amigos Blog , A big thanks Jason, Joe, Kid & the rest of Salsa crew!

On a side note, I'm getting a new Epic website up and running which should be up by next week. I actually have a real domain and am ditching blogger, it will still be nice and simple, but be much better and easier to navigate.

It snowed a ton in town and looks like a major storm system is hitting Turnagin pass, looks the the swallowtail will be needed for carving the real post-thanksgiving turkey...

Winner Creek

Dylan and I headed down to Seward on Tuesday night. The presentation went well, good group of people, no technical problems, fun to talk about the trips. On the way back yesterday we stopped to stretch our legs in Girdwood by riding the winner creek, Handtram loop. I did this a few weeks before in the dark, so it was nice to do it again in the daylight and actually see everything. Conditions were great, nice and packed, could ride mostly everything.

Film

Spent the last week working for my friend Matt at the Ascending Path. Through his guiding business & experience he's been getting more and more involved in film work that comes to Alaska that involves anything technical in the mountains. This was a documentary on a recent mountaineering tragedy. We had a wonderfully talented and skilled group of people and the whole production went off with out a hitch. Everybody pulled multiple roles ranging from acting to rigging, safety, grip, stunts etc.

It was bittersweet however since several of us, including myself, personally knew one of the climbers that perished. So although exciting and fun work, there was always an undertone of seriousness. We made every effort to "get it right" and as accurate as possible. I think we accomplished that in the filming.

Some photos:

me wishing it was colder....

Saturday was heli day, the weather cooperated and we had 2 R-44's at our disposal.
